John J. Marchioni

John J. Marchioni is President and Chief Executive Officer of Selective Insurance Group, Inc.

Mr. Marchioni joined Selective in 1998 as a Government Affairs Specialist. In 2000 he was promoted to Assistant Vice President in Government Affairs, and in 2003 to Vice President, Director of Government Affairs. He was appointed Vice President and Strategic Business Unit Leader in 2004, and Senior Vice President, Director of Personal Lines and Flood in 2005. Mr. Marchioni was promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Field Operations Officer in October 2007 and President and Chief Operating Officer in 2013. He assumed his current role in February 2020.

Shadi Albert

Shadi Albert is Executive Vice President, Insurance Strategy and Business Development. He is responsible for all functions related to marketing, personal lines, flood, agency development and distribution strategies, small business and innovation. 

Mr. Albert joined Selective in 2013 as Assistant Vice President, Reinsurance and Enterprise Risk Management, and was promoted to Vice President, Commercial Lines Underwriting in 2014. He transitioned to Director of Field Operations in 2016 then was promoted to Senior Vice President, Regional Manager for Selective’s Southwest Region in 2017 where he oversaw the company’s geographic expansion of business operations into Arizona, Colorado, Utah and New Mexico.

Prior to Selective, Mr. Albert served as Assistant Vice President, Rating Agency and Enterprise Risk Advisory at Towers Watson, and held various risk and financial analyst roles at Aon Benfield and Guy Carpenter.

Cyndi Bennett

Cyndi Bennett is Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer at Selective, with responsibility for the company’s human resources strategy, including talent management, benefits, diversity and compensation.

Ms. Bennett joined Selective in 2006 as Compensation Manager, and has held leadership roles of increasing seniority, including Assistant Vice President and Vice President of Compensation. She was promoted to Vice President, Compensation and Benefits in 2012 and assumed her current role in 2020. 

Prior to Selective, Ms. Bennett spent nine years at Prudential Financial, where she served as Director, Compensation for Prudential International Insurance/Investments and prior to that Manager, Compensation for Institutional Insurance.

John Bresney

John Bresney is Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer with responsibility for all IT operations at Selective.

Mr. Bresney joined Selective as an intern, then assumed a full-time role as a Senior Application Development Manager in 1994. He grew his career through a series of leadership roles of increasing responsibility, including Assistant Vice President, Enterprise Development Services; Vice President, Infrastructure and Operations; and Vice President, Personal Lines Business Development and Architecture. In 2013, he was named Senior Vice President, Enterprise Application Delivery Services, where he led a series of initiatives that improved the quality and throughput of Selective’s enterprise delivery services. Mr. Bresney was promoted to his current role in 2019.

Gordon J. Gaudet

Gordon J. Gaudet is Executive Vice President, Chief Innovation Officer. He leads the development of innovative solutions that serve the needs of Selective’s customers and agents. Mr. Gaudet also has oversight of the enterprise program management office, advanced analytics, and strategic operations.

Mr. Gaudet joined Selective in 2013 and served as the organization’s Chief Information Officer until assuming his current role in 2019.

Prior to Selective, Mr. Gaudet spent nine years as a Director and Co-lead of Deloitte Consulting’s Insurance Core System Transformation practice in Chicago and served on the systems integration advisory boards for Program/Project Management and Delivery Methods and Tools. He was also Partner and Chief Information Officer at The Actuarials Exchange, LLC, with responsibility for all company technology.

Throughout his career, Mr. Gaudet has been responsible for technology strategy and assessment, as well as full life-cycle execution in many insurance sub-sectors, including property and casualty insurance.

Brenda Hall

Brenda Hall is Executive Vice President, Commercial Lines Chief Operating Officer. She oversees regional operations and corporate commercial lines underwriting.

Ms. Hall joined Selective in 2001 and held several leadership positions including Vice President, Underwriting. She was promoted to Senior Vice President, Director of Field Underwriting in 2008, then Senior Vice President, Chief Strategic Operations Officer in 2015, where she was responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of the company’s strategic plan and the integration of predictive modeling into underwriting operations.

Prior to joining Selective, Ms. Hall was a Marketing Manager at Westfield Insurance and a Senior Underwriter at Zurich.

Jeffrey (Jeff) Kamrowski

Jeff Kamrowski is Executive Vice President, MUSIC (Mesa Underwriters Specialty Insurance Company), a subsidiary of Selective Insurance Group, Inc. He has responsibility for overall Excess & Surplus lines (E&S) operations, including advancing profitable growth strategies and improving operational performance. Mr. Kamrowski oversees underwriting practices, marketing initiatives, and strategic alliance-building with brokers and general agents.

Mr. Kamrowski joined Selective in 1988 as a programming analyst, where he gained broad experience across standard and specialty lines insurance operations. He has held a variety of roles of increasing seniority in Business Services, Commercial Lines Underwriting, E&S, and Information Technology. Prior to his current role, Mr. Kamrowski was Senior Vice President, MUSIC. Other corporate leadership roles have included Senior Vice President, Chief Underwriting Officer, Commercial Lines; Senior Vice President of the Business Services Unit and Accounts; Senior Vice President of Applications Development and Business Services; and Senior Vice President of Commercial Underwriting and Operations.

Paul Kush

Paul Kush is Executive Vice President, Chief Claims Officer, with responsibility for all Claims and Staff Counsel operations at Selective.

Mr. Kush joined Selective in December 2019 after nine years as the founding Chief Claims Officer for ProSight Specialty Insurance. Prior to ProSight, Mr. Kush spent more than 27 years at Crum & Forster Insurance Company, progressing through roles of increasing responsibility to the role of Chief Claims Officer.

Michael H. Lanza

Michael H. Lanza is Executive Vice President and General Counsel, with oversight for the company's legal department, as well as regulatory, ethics and compliance, and legislative and government affairs functions. He also serves as Selective’s Chief Compliance Officer.

Mr. Lanza joined Selective in 2004 as Senior Vice President and General Counsel, and was promoted to his current role in October 2007. Before that, he was a corporate advisor and consultant and served as Executive Vice President and Corporate Secretary of QuadraMed Corporation, a publicly traded healthcare IT company. Previously, Mr. Lanza was Assistant General Counsel at CIGNA Corporation, where his responsibilities included state government affairs, health care compliance, and international matters. He began his career in private legal practice in Connecticut.

Vincent Senia

Vincent Senia, Executive Vice President and Chief Actuary, is responsible for directing the company's actuarial operations, including pricing, reserving and other actuarial analytics. He also plays a key role in the company's strategic and financial planning.

Mr. Senia joined Selective in 2010 as Senior Vice President, Actuarial Reserving and was promoted to his current role in 2017. Prior to Selective, he served as Vice President and Chief Reserving Actuary for Munich Re America and held senior actuarial positions at Crum and Forster and Swiss Re New Markets.

Mark A. Wilcox

Mark A. Wilcox is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Selective Insurance Group, Inc. He is responsible for all functions related to accounting, finance, treasury, investor relations, internal audit, investment operations, reinsurance, enterprise risk management and tax.

Prior to joining Selective, Mr. Wilcox served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd., and was responsible for accounting policy, internal, external, and regulatory financial reporting, budgeting, global tax, global actuarial and investor relations. Previously, he held senior financial positions at PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP and Bank of America Corporation.
