Nevada has been under a State of Emergency in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic since March 13, 2020. The Nevada Division of Insurance issued a statement to all Property/Casualty Insurers on March 30, 2020, which encourages Property/Casualty carriers to consider the following for Nevada residents affected by the COVID-19 outbreak:
- Providing extended grace periods before cancellation of coverage.
 
- Provide flexibility with due dates for premiums.
 
- Waiving late fees and penalties.
 
- Providing payment plans for premiums to avoid a lapse in coverage.
 
- Only cancel or non-renew if all efforts are exhausted.
 
The following measures are permitted for claims handling, provided the insurer gives notice to the state prior to implementing these practices.
- Virtual inspections of property.
 
- Use of electronic means for conducting inspections or audits.
 
- Waiving late fees and penalties.
 
- Providing payment plans for premiums to avoid a lapse in coverage.
 
- Increased use of electronic delivery methods for consumer notifications and interactions.
